Hi! My name is Andy Tsang with the class of 2021 (P2), and my current position in SNPhA is the Power to End Stroke initiative chair. I grew up in New York City but I prefer the Buffalo community because of the non-stop traffic in the city. One thing you should definitely know about me is that I really enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures because the stories that people share from different backgrounds are astonishing. I am definitely a sports car enthusiast but I’ll save that talk for next time. Anyways, the reason why I joined SNPhA is because I want to raise awareness about strokes and inform the community about certain preventive measures that can be taken to reduce risk of acquiring one.

Hello! My name is Izumi and I am currently a P2 student.
I am this year's Power to End Stroke initiative chair.
Last year, I had a chance to be involved in some of the events hosted by SNPhA and I realized the pertinence of raising awareness in disease prevention, and how it could save peoples' lives.
I believe that if we can all work together as a united club, we can take a lead in making changes to our community!

Hello everyone, my name is Kong Yu Chen. I am a P2 pharmacy student and one of the Co-chairs for Operation Immunization. I decided to join SNPhA because I was attracted to their mission of serving the underserved. I thought that this organization would be able to help make difference in the community and allow me to interact and learn from people and I was right. Because of SNPhA I have been able to interact with the community but working with Meals On Wheels of WNY program and the local Boys and Girls Club. I have also learned a lot form the former co-chairs and I hope to pass on what I’ve learned to future students.
I am from the Bronx, and I decided to come to Buffalo for the pharmacy program. Some things that I enjoy doing include watching and playing basketball, playing video games, watching anime and just hanging out with my friends. I am a pretty laid-back person and I’m easy to talk to. I hope to get to know everyone better in the upcoming year.

Hello everyone, my name is Chris Vu and I am currently a P2 student as well as the co-chair of Operation Immunization. The main thing that interested me about SNPhA was the large variety of events available throughout the year. Because of this, it was easy to find something that I enjoyed. Some of these events include the 60-second vaccine video challenge, Meals on Wheels collaboration, and the Spring into Health fair. At these events, I was able to work with my peers on educating the public on vaccinations and disease states. These experiences have taught me a lot and I’m looking forward to learning more this upcoming year with SNPhA!
I was born in Buffalo and I’ve been here ever since. Some things I enjoy doing are playing games and also watching hockey and anime. I like to approach things with an open mind and I look forward to working with everyone this upcoming year.

Hey everyone! My name is Matt, and I am currently a P2 student here at UB and Co-Chair for the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) initiative. The reason I joined SNPhA is because they are all about “serving the underserved,” through wellness clinics, volunteering, and many other great opportunities. The members of SNPhA are also welcoming and helpful in getting students involved!

Hi I’m Christopher and I’m a part of the class of 2021. I’m also one of the Chairs for the Chronic Kidney Disease initiative. I’m from Queens, New York. Some things I enjoy doing are running, listening to music and playing basketball. I actually joined SNPhA looking for more ways to get involved in a school organization. SNPhA was very welcoming especially after meeting members that were very friendly and level headed. I decided to prioritize my involvement in the organization when a lot of fun opportunities to get involved were offered frequently.

My name is Hetal Patel and I’m currently in my P3 year. I am the co-chair for Remember the Ribbon. I was initially attracted to the diversity and the friendly nature of all the members of this organization. I joined SNPhA so that I could be more involved in the community and improve the lives of underserved communities. As a co-chair for Remember the Ribbon, I look forward to planning events that help raise awareness on HIV/AIDS.

My name is Mayuri Patel, in my P3 year, SNPhA diabetes co-chair. I’ve been a member of SNPhA for the past three years and this is my second year of being a diabetes co-chair. One reason why I chose to become part of this organization is because it strives to serve the under-served and minorities. When I first attended the general meeting, I felt comfortable and welcomed. That is when I knew that this is an organization that I want to be a part of. Besides the first impression, seeing the hard work all the board members and initiative chairs put in inspired me to make a difference in the community and encouraged me to be more involved during my first year. The reason why I chose to be a diabetes co-chair is because my father has diabetes and I understand the struggles we face every day. My goal as a diabetes co-chair is to spread awareness and to make a difference in the diabetes world.

Hi! My name is Caroline Rusch. I am a P2 student and the Diabetes Initiative Co-Chair. I joined SNPhA because of the many opportunities for involvement within a fun, close-knit setting. There’s so many chances to be a part of events in the community and reinforce the organization’s mission of serving the underserved, and that was really appealing to me. I’m super excited for this year!
